Anyone remember the cupcake tragedy from last year!?!) Included on the sign-up are a few roles for the evening that we could use some help with too. We appreciate everyone's help with the celebration! Thank you Sabrina Williamson and Amanda Lee for helping coordinate some party-specifics along with the committee!
During the party there will be a season slideshow from all the pictures collected this year, participation certificates and fun awards will be presented. It is always a great time to end the season. Please RSVP in SwimTopia now! https://waterford.swimtopia.
Coach Favorite Lists: As the season comes to an end, some of our families would like to get something special for their swimmer’s coaches. Attached is a PDF with all of the coach’s favorite things. If you are getting anything for your coaches and wanted to hand to a committee member, we are creating bags for the coaches for the end of year party.
Volunteers and Committee Members for next season: As we finish out this season, we have recognized some areas that we would love help with for next year. With our committee (and our high-level volunteers) we always try to keep a balance between summer-only swim team families and year-round swimmer families, younger and older swimmers, and those who live in Waterford mixed with those in other neighborhoods that participate on the team. Below are some roles we are looking for next year. If you have any interest (or questions on what is involved), please email us at [email protected]. Continued roles and needs may be communicated after the new year as the Committee begins planning for the season. The more, the merrier as they say!
First, Lindsay will be taking a step back from Committee responsibilities next year, and we are looking for someone (or two) people to help fill that role! With her departure, we are looking for someone within the Waterford Neighborhood to be a Waterford Liaison between the Waterford HOA, pool and the swim team. This entails communicating calendar information, making sure guard staffing is available during our meets, and the like. Also, if you really like sending emails and posting to Facebook, we would love your help with that as well!
*Some of our pre-season needs this year include help with generating Sponsors and assisting with Hiring Coaches. Both roles begin at the beginning of the year.
*In-season help would be to help do ribbons after swim meets, learn scoring to become a point person (pun intended), and gaining a few more individuals to become stroke and turn judges. These are all roles that we would love for people to think about during the off-season. We are also hoping to have someone as a deck parent for our AM and PM practice’s next season. This would be someone who feels comfortable working alongside the committee to help if a need arises during practice. They would need to be available to be present at most practices. We really appreciate everyone who has come in this season and has assisted the committee during this year of transition! It goes to show there is a lot of passion and love for our team!
That's all the deets for now as we sprint to the finish of the season! We have truly enjoyed getting to know our families and I know these last few days will be a lot of fun in the water!
We wish everyone a great 4th of July (please don't let our swimmers lose fingers on the 4th or twist ankles at roller skating! Ha)!
Go Stingrays,
