Stingray Swimmers & Families,

Believe it or not - It Is time to register for CITY MEET - registration is due Monday, June 12th by noon! 

For those of you who are new to summer swimming or simply need a quick refresher - City Meet is FRIDAY, JUNE 23rd and is hosted by the Tyde YMCA swim club. It is an optional meet and all summer swim teams in the League are invited to participate. It is one of the most FUN and exciting events that our Waterford Stingrays participate in each year! The theme this year is Finding Nemo. Every local summer swim team will be there so you’ll get to see all of your friends from all over the area. With this event, team numbers are smaller than a typical meet, as each team brings only those who sign up (*no sign-ins needed for those not participating*). This meet is completely optional and the point of the meet is to have FUN! (There are prizes, t-shirts, music, themed decorations in all the team tents...you name it!!)

We would LOVE to have as many swimmers as we can participate - the more swimmers we have, the more FUN we have!! ANY Waterford pool member, of any age, can swim. That means Stingrays, Waterford pool members, parents (yes, you-triathlon dad!), siblings, etc. can swim in this meet. You just have to be registered as a Waterford pool member. This is such a FUN meet, as each swimmer gets to choose their own events!

**A splash fee of $10.00 is required per swimmer (Note: our team covers the event fees, which can total up to $38 per swimmer!). CityMeet t-shirts are also available for an additional $17 (please include swimmer fees/t-shirt fee into your payment via Venmo @WaterfordStingrays, Cash or Check payments - Please contact Alycia Hennis @ [email protected]). Payment is due at the time of sign-up and is non-refundable. Waterford is required to supply two timers throughout the day - every family will be required to volunteer. Don't worry, it's just for a short time as we divide and conquer the shifts!

The meet is broken into two FUN-filled sessions:

1.10 & Under session and an 11 & Up session. The 10 & Under session is Friday morning (warm-ups beginning at 9:00am; meet starts at 10:00am),

2.11 & Up session (warm-ups beginning at 1:30pm; meet starts at 2:30pm).

Swimmers only need to attend their session. This means that 10 & Unders can leave following the completion of the morning session, and 11 & Up can arrive shortly before their warm-ups.

To participate, here is what you need to do:

Deadline is Monday, June 12th by NOON.

3.Pay the fee of $10.00, per swimmer. Make sure to Venmo the team (@WaterfordStingrays) at the time of registration. Cash or Check payments - Please contact Alycia Hennis at [email protected]. Include the t-shirt cost of $17 if you would like one. If you have more than one swimmer participating, one venmo payment is fine - just include swimmer names in the “What’s it for?” section of Venmo.

4.Find any fun items or decorations that could tie into the Finding Nemo Theme!! We will decorate our tent with Finding Nemo items too!
