Hey Hey Stingrays!

We are officially a team of 155 swimmers and we are so excited to see where this season will take us. We've enjoyed getting to know some of our swimmers and families over the past couple of weeks and can't wait to meet everyone else! We know many schools in the area wrapped up their school year last week and the others are sprinting to the finish line! We've got this!

Below are important dates coming up over the next couple of weeks along with some updates:

*Monday, May 29th - No Practice in observance of Memorial Day

*Monday, May 29th MERCH ORDERS DUE- Our second set of merchandise orders are also due! This will be our final order of the season. We will have our first order of  this week and will handing out at practice! We've just got in some new Car Magnets and Stickers that will be available at practices soon along with a closet cleanout of some of our older (dare we say Retro) items with our last logo. Stay Tuned for more merch news!

*Tuesday, May 30th - Time Trial Practice. This allows the coaches to know who can swim each stroke, who should be on which relay and it basically gets a baseline for the season. Please try to be there if you can! 

**NOTE - The spirit night at East Coast Wings has been cancelled for Tuesday evening. We will be rescheduling it down the road. 

*Wednesday, May 31st - Concession Donations DUE. Thank you to the families who have already brought up Soda and Gatorade! Last names A-R, please bring a 12-pack of name-brand soda, and last names S-Z, please bring a pack of 12oz Gatorade bottles. Label with your last name! Thank you to Sarah Jane Bost who is our concession guru and has been helping us keep track of the donations! 

*Thursday, June 1st - Practice Swim Meet. Signing in for this meet is now closed. We will not hold regular practices this day. This will be a great evening to get our feet wet for our swimmers who are new or need a refresher! Thank you to everyone who is volunteering for this meet! 

*Thursday, June 1st - SIGN-INS are due for our first real meet of the season. This will be at Sherwood pool on Tuesday, June 6th. Much more info to come for this meet. You can declare your swimmers here: https://waterford.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

*Friday, June 2nd - Regular Swim Practice

*Saturday, June 3rd: Optional Stroke Clinic. Our coaches will be holding 2 sessions next Saturday morning (8:45a-9:45a & 9:45a-10:45a). This is for anyone who would like to have their swimmer get a little more practice with focus on technique, starts, and turns. More Important Dates: Tuesday June 6th will be our first meet AT Sherwood. Sign-INs will be due for the Clemmons West meet on June 8th and there will be no practice Friday, June 9th. 

*Ribbons from last season: This will be the final week to collect any ribbons, medals and certificates from last season. We will be cleaning them out after this week. 

*Evening Practices Starting June 12th - We will continue to have some evening practices starting June 12th once the morning practices take place. The pool graciously allows us to have three lanes, and there will be a sign-up for those who are not able to come to AM practices. More to come soon, including the sign-up links.

*Swim Lessons: For anyone with younger children, or to get some extra lesson time this summer with our swimmers, Head Coach Abby is beginning to collect interest and will communicate once lessons are set to take place. The cost will be $15 for a 30 minute lesson. If your family in interested in lessons, please email Coach Abby - [email protected]

*No Swim-A-Thon this season: Due to the generosity of our families and amazing sponsors this season, we will no longer have to hold the swim-a-thon which was scheduled for June 21st. The funds that have been donated by sponsors have allowed us to be able to meet the needs to operate our swim team for the summer which is amazing!
