Stingray Families -

So, tomorrow night (Tuesday, June 7th) the Waterford Stingrays face off against the New Sherwood Stingrays....it's a battle of the STINGRAYS! We know our Waterford swimmers will BRING IT....we are 180+ strong and we have no doubt we are READY TO SWIM FAST!!

Our first home meet is at New Sherwood pool on Tuesday, June 7th starting promptly at 5:30pm. Here are ALL the details you need to plan (minus the heat sheet). We will send the heat sheet out promptly tomorrow once we get entries from New Sherwood - we have to wait on the other team to submit their races before we can finalize and send. It will likely be NOON OR LATER before the heat sheet is ready and emailed to you. Just FYI for planning sake!!! (NOTE: remember that you will need to PRINT the heat sheet when you receive it in your inbox tomorrow) 

As you plan for our first Away Meet, here is some information from the New Sherwood team about Tuesday's meet:

• New Sherwood Pool address: 4600 Fernmarch Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 
• Parking - Parking is available in a paved parking lot behind the pool and in our gravel lot and grass field across from the pool. Parking attendants should be available to direct your families. A circle drive is available for unloading only - please no parking around this circle. Please be aware of the "No Parking” signs along Fernmarch Drive and in the adjacent Lytchfield condo neighborhood. If necessary, cars can park along the pool side of Alistair Road heading towards Peace Haven Road. Please let parents know to arrive no earlier than 4:15 PM with a preferable arrival time of 4:30 PM to allow us time for meet set up. 
• Deck - Your visitor side will be the side closest to the playground. Feel free to bring tents to cover your seating area. We will have loungers turned sideways but you may also want to encourage parents to bring deck chairs to set up.
• Concessions - We will be selling Chick-fil-A sandwiches, fruit, chips, cookies, candy and drinks from our concessions area on the playground. Sunset Slushes will be present during the meet. All sales are Cash only. 
• Heat Winner Prizes - "Stingray Bucks” are awarded to all 10 and Under heat winners and are redeemable at concessions with a 25 cent value. 
• Playground - Free to use but unsupervised. Parents --- please remember to monitor as necessary. 
• Timing - Swimmers and parents should arrive between 4:30-4:45pm. Entry is NOT allowed prior to 4:30pm. Waterford will warm up at 5:15pm, right before the meet begins promptly at 5:30pm.
• Volunteers - If you are volunteering at the meet, make sure to check-in at the Waterford Volunteer table with Becky McKinnon. ALL volunteers should check-in promptly by 5:15pm -  for BOTH halves of the meet. This helps us identify ANY holes and fill them! 
• After Meet Dinner - Waterford will go to Chick-fil-A PEACEHAVEN Road after the meet. This is a chance for team bonding! It's certainly not required to attend. Our coaches are STARVING after the meet and need dinner.....so our team loves to pick a restaurant to visit after the meet. Make sure to tell CFA Peacehaven you are with "Waterford Stingrays"!
• Heat Sheet - The heat sheet is still being finalized between both teams. A LOT of thought goes into the entries and relay teams! Look for Waterford to send an email mid-day tomorrow with a link to the heat sheet. (NOTE: The heat sheet is a fancy way of saying "'this is what you will swim at the meet"....Just make sure to print a copy.....when you come to the pool deck, coaches will help you read the sheet and mark your arm!!! No worries if you are not sure how to do it!)
